We’ve had a pleasant surprise, as we begin finals week here at Hamilton College—the arrival of the Dremel 3D40-EDU! This easy-to-use 3D printer geared towards education boasts a non-clogging nozzle, a quiet operation, a learning community, and web-based design and printing software.
We’ll be figuring out where in Burke library this 3D printer will live, and setting it up over winter break! We anticipate using this for Visiting Assistant Professor of Literature Nhora Serrano’s “Dream a Little Dream” course, as well as for our student interns and Digital Media Tutors to get hands-on experience running and maintaining a 3D printer.
